[PDF-Basics] Reduction of spaces between words

Hi all.   Is there a way to reduce the spaces between the words on a line (and a paragraph) of the Adobe PDF ( from Acrobat 6.0.1 standard)?   The substitution of the page is not a good solution because it increases very much the file size.   Thanks in advance.   Ruy Miranda
