Sabrina,

Why don't you open the pdf in Acrobat, then open each image(I'm assuming
that's were the problem lies) in Photoshop a convert to desired color space.
I'm on a mac with Acro. V4 and I can launch an image by selecting to object
touchup tool, holding down the option key and double clicking while my
cursor is over the image.  This should launch Photoshop.  Once the image is
open in Photo. make your change and save, Acrobat will automatically update
the image, then save the pdf.
