This came to my personal email. While I do appreciate the thought that I might
actually be of some use, I'm not proficient enough on the Mac to address this nice,
and obviously intelligent, man's problem. It's my experience that if you tell
distiller not to make a pdf if the fonts can't embed, then it won't make a pdf. Maybe
someone else has seen this on the Mac, as I haven't myself on the PC. I use font
substitution if I can't embed.

Hi James,

Let me introduce myself. I am Andrew and I work for a Company that develop AdExpress
(www.adexpress.co.uk). I was reading a reply you gave to one of the pdf-basic forum
and I tough you can be of great advise to our problem.

We are currently encountering a difficulty in with Acrobat Distiller 5 and 6 on Mac
platform. We have set a profile to cancel job if the font cannot be embedded but even
with this settings, Distiller still carries on generating a pdf. We manage to
re-produce this by doing the following:

-dragging an eps file and dropping to the Distiller main window
-sending an apple event to Distiller by specifying the right profile.

Is there any thing wrong with them. What settings do we need to use in order to make
sure that Distiller will not generate a pdf file if the font cannot be embedded?

This problem is really important to us as we are using Distiller as our main PDF
engine for our product AdExpress.

I would very much appreciate if you could put us in the right direction as once again
this is key for us.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Andrew Chan
