Nothing wrong with the advice to date in terms of creating a pdf file.
However, why do so? Can't you print directly (to the RIP of the
Docucolor) -it's far quicker and arguably much easier. That is what we
do and create any PDF's needed for imposition on the RIP. For those that
don't have a Xerox 2045 it has RIP installed alongside which provides a
host of built-in imposition and calibration functions based on a pdf
workflow.

printer we are using is a Xerox2045 postscript colour printer with
associated ppd. Hot folder is
running with Distiller5.0 which is what Xerox says has to run that
particular colour copier.

Have you installed an Acrobat Distiller printer with the Distiller ppd
on
your system?

trying to create a postscript file from Word2000 on PC with Win2000
platform. only choice given is *.prn. I renamed to *.ps then distilled
but
am getting a font not found. I use a specific printer when printing to
file
and create postscript is placed in a Distiller Hot folder for PDF
creation.
Fonts are absent or look funky when viewing. Any ideas?
