You cannot have duplicate copies of one signature field. By design. Too many legal ramifications.

Then would someone explain why the following text is in the help file?

"NOTE: If you sign a field, be aware that the document author may have put duplicates of
the field on other document pages. For example, sometimes a field is copied to the same place
on every page. You need to sign the field only once. and your signature appears in all occurrences
of the field. This duplication allows quick initialing of every page in a document."

N.B.: The above text had to be typed by hand. We can't copy and paste from the help file. Might violate Adobe's precious intellectual property rights.

Adobe needs to quit being such a PITA. There are two types of signature in 6 Pro: the ordinary one and the certified one. If you've just <got> to disable duplication, why not just disable duplication of the certified signature and leave the other one just like it was?

If what you've told me is correct (and I think it probably is), then my form, created in Acro 5, with 914 fields, which requires signing by two people in eight different places has to be revised, because Adobe changed its mind between versions. <Sigh> I guess it's my own fault, though. I should have learned better than to do business with these so-and-so's after Pagemaker.

I apologize to the list, and especially to you, Roberto, for being such a grumpy b*****d. Been working on a report all day, intending to email it before the close of business, only to find out Adobe changed the rules on me. And all in the name of the security that Elcomsoft's busted all to hell already anyhow.

Roberto, thanks for the quick response. I really do appreciate it, even if I don't sound like it.
