Leo,

What about the idea of displaying the field names in alphabetical sequence and scanning for identical names.  In Acrobat 5 (Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to effectively use Acrobat 6 for the type of forms-design work that we do, which is usually adding fields to existing PDFs.), the "Fields" option on the "Window" menu apparently displays the field names in alphabetical sequence, including duplicates.

P.S.  I've been unable to figure out a way to globally add the same prefix characters in front of each field name, but I'm no expert at _javascript_ or on PDF forms.

Subject: [PDF-Forms] Checking for Duplicate Field Names

Hello to all.

Does any of you have a document _javascript_ that will find and print out a list of all fields which have duplicate field names, i.e., a field name appearing in more than one place in a document?  Thanks!

Leo
