There are several variables at play here:
You do not state whether your HP is using a PCL or PS personality.
Historically PS files tend to be larger.
You do not state whether you are printing direct or going thru a print
server.
There are several variables in the configuration of the print queue that
affect how much space is allocated for print spooling as well as processing
the print stream as it travels to the printer.
Perhaps if you have no other responses that are satisfactory and wish to
continue this off-line we can exchange more background?

When I print a one page file with graphics (16K file) to a HP lasterjet
4000 printer the Spooled file can grow up to 100Mb before acrobat reader is
released and the print is sent to the print queue. As soon at the Acrobat
is released from the print the Spool print goes to a couple of K before
printing on the printer.
I am use Adobe Reader 5 and 6 and Windows 2000.
Do any body know why and how I can fix the problem.
Regards
Robin
