The main problem with the field formatting and working with Acrobat that everyone needs to remember or learn is that Acrobat is NOT WYSIWYG. There are two different objects, one for the value and one for the display.
The format or comb is done using the value i.e. 1650, if you want 1650.00 combed then you will need to get 1650.00 into the value when you autofill.
When formatting 1650 with $ and 2 decimal places, it will "display" properly, however, the actual "value" of the field is still 1650 not $1,650.00. If you actually want the value and display to match, you will need to write a _javascript_ to change the value to the formatting that you want and you will then probably need to set formatting to none.
