Setting the Tab order, as we all have known since that was possible with Acrobat has been reinstated in the 6.01 upgrade. Therefore, upgrade as quickly as you can. If for whatever reasons you can't upgrade, see if you have still a working copy of Acrobat 5 around (which might be more efficient for forms work anyway).
With the rotated fields, you might have a close look on how you prepare the new base documents. It usually means that you somehow have a discrepancy between "Landscape" in the paper settings in the printer set-up and automatic rotating.
You also could see what happens when you exchange the pages in the original form with the pages of the new version.
Hope, this can help.

We have literally hundreds of forms that we have tagged (fields) in PDF's created by Distiller from 5.0.
When we open them now, we have lost the field tab order functionality. How do we get it back? Or is there an easy workaround?
We also use base forms which we then copy those fields onto a new PDF version. At this time we are getting rotated form fields which are useless. How do we fix that?
Any other words of wisdom regarding form fields would be most appreciated.
