Just speculation on my part, but I would think it more likely you just need to install a French version of the speech engine. IIRC from installing it to get other things to work, it was language specific.

Hi All!
I have tried the "Read Out Loud" feature of the new Acrobat 6.0 Reader and have been somewhat pleased with the results obtained on English documents.
I am also trying to evaluate results on French documents, but am having no success in changing the speech from English to French.
I have tried installing the French version of the Acrobat 6.0 Reader but still receive an English rendition of the text.
I am running Windows 2000 SP3 O/S in English.
What can I do to obtain a French rendering of French text using the "Read Out Loud" feature?
Do I need to install the French version of the Acrobat 6.0 Reader on a French Windows 2000 O/S?
Any advice would be appreciated.....
