Does anyone know of a plug-in or other routine to do what would be the equivalent of resizing the canvas in Photoshop? In other words, how can I take an existing PDF consisting of pages of less than letter size page images, and grow, as it were, the page size for the entire document--so each preexisting smaller page appears now centered in a larger letter size "canvas"?
Here's why I need this: Inserting headers/footers in a PDF (Acrobat 6.0) with pages smaller than letter size will place them in the margins of the PDF's page images; hence, when you print the PDF to letter size paper (e.g., centered), your "headers" or "footers" appear in the margin area determined by the smaller PDF page image, NOT by the letter size paper for the output. So, you don't get a header/footer relative to the letter size paper you're printing on, only relative to the sized of the original PDF page images.
Any ideas?
