Sometimes it is the simplest thing... Just to be sure, all your images
are the same color space, right? (all RGB or CMYK?) I'm not sure that
would affect exporting so much. I know it is a problem when the file
gets to an imagesetter.

Also, you may have a rogue TrueType font or corrupt Postscript font that
is causing the postscript to choke. Even if it is not the exact
characters that you have used, I have noticed that some other part of
the font signature can throw the distiller when the problem is located
in just the right bytes....

Food for thought, I don't know how accurate I really am.....
