Hi,
I work at a homeless shelter and need to
convert our PageMaker 7.0 newsletter to PDF for our website. I have a
couple of problems I hope you can help me with:
1. The original PM file is almost 5MB and is
too large when converted to a PDF for easy downloading. I've tried distilling it
twice, which brings it down to just over 300kb, but the B&W photos are too
pixelated now. (I always distill by printing to Distiller, rather than exporting
to pdf, since the latter gives me very strange results in my ordinary Times New
Roman - it's scrunched and unreadable.)
2. I only have Reader and Distiller, which
came free with PageMaker. Do I need something different to add bookmarks, hot
links, etc? If I could add hot links, I'd solve problem #1 by distilling each
page of the newsletter as a separate file and linking it.
