Two points:
(1) PostScript is device dependent. Creating PostScript using a
printer driver for a specific printer model for another is a
recipe for disaster and that specifically includes using PostScript
destined for the Xerox Phaser 7700 for the Distiller. If you
need PostScript for the Distiller, you create a PostScript printer
driver instance using the driver installer (downloadable from
Adobe's web site) and the Acrobat Distiller PPD.
(2) Unless you have licensed Acrobat Distiller Server, the scenario
you paint of creating PostScript on multiple desktop systems and
sending those PostScript files to another desktop system that
actually has Acrobat installed is in blatant violation of the
end user license agreement of Acrobat.
