Peggy,

If you're interested in reducing file size for PDFs that includes image
streams, I would strongly encourage you try CVISION's PdfCompressor. Here's
the link:
http://www.cvisiontech.com/cvistapdf.html

Even without a reduction in dpi, PdfCompressor often obtains a 10:1 file
size reduction for PDFs containing image streams 300 dpi and higher. As the
leader in JBIG2 compression technology, only CVISION's PdfCompressor can
dramatically reduce this file size with absolutely no loss of perceptual
image quality. PdfCompressor can also resample the document to any dpi
setting that you choose, OCR (for text-searchability), stamp, split and
merge files, and web-optimize.

For a partial list of PdfCompressor clients, check this link:

Hope this is helpful.

Subject: [PDF] Resolution on a PDF

Hi there -

I have a 145 page document that was scanned by someone in my office. I'm
not sure what the resolution was that they set the Xerox docu centre to, but
I have a feeling it's 600 x 600 dpi. I think I want to re-scan it using a
smaller resolution like 300 x 300 dpi, so that the document can be
compressed and optimized better for transporting in smaller packets to
e-mail accounts.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Cordially,
