But by enabling the older version compatibility, you increase the file size. If you use the reduce file size function, and select V6, your file size will be smaller, but then it can only be opened by V6. But, if you want a different version PDF, you can simply print postscript from the Acrobat file in question, and redistill using the setting of your choice.
