I ran into this problem on my Windows 2000 machine using Word Perfect 9.0
when I loaded Service Pack 4. Unable to figure out a fix but did come up
with a work around. I uninstalled WP 9, loaded Service Pack (SP) 3 and the
problem goes away. I'm guessing that the problem is in the WP end of your

The way you can tell which WP 9.0 Service Pack you have installed on your
machine:
In WP 9.0, select HELP -> ABOUT Word Perfect. Find the listed version.
SP4 is 9.0.0.883, SP 3 is 9.0.0.738 and my original WP version is
9.0.0.558. I don't know what SP1 and SP 2 versions are but they are
included in SP3 .

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

I have a WP document and I opened it in WP version 9. I went to PDF it
using Acrobat Distiller 5.0.5. If I PDF it using ebook setting it works
great-except it won't save it as a Acrobat 3 and up doc. I changed it to my

web settings (which have a lower resolution, Acrobat 3 plus) and it gives
an error and won't make the PDF. It says:

%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[ Error: WP-IconicSymbolsA cannot be embedded due to licensing
restrictions.]%%
%%[ Font vendor (WPCO) does not permit this font to be embedded in PDF.]%%
%%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: show; ErrorInfo:
CharOffsets e l fonts/X28DC2443 ]%%
Stack:
()
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

I had this happen a while back and had to upgrade to WP9 in order to get WP

to stop the error...I really hope I don't have to upgrade again :) I went
through the document and got rid of all the IconicSymbols and still no
dice. I use win xp home...

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Lisa
