Of course. In fact, Save vs. Save as is an important feature...
If so this would be the most useful, non-technical tip we could give to people reviewing and commenting on files - these files sometimes take a Really long time to open.
The time to load the file is NOT related to size, since the entire file ins't load into memory. However, the more annotations the longerit will take.
