There's a free browser plug-in at http://www.schubert-it.com/ for OS X.
However, as good as this plug-in by Schubert is, it is by far not comparable with what we know from the Acrobat plug-ins (and, IMHO; deserve to have for OS X). Schubert's plug-in does a great job; it displays PDF in the web browser. What it does not do is add all the functionality we have with Acrobat (links, interactivity, search, etc.).
But if taken for what it can, it is a great plug-in.
Hope, this can help.
