Hey Lewis,

We had a similar problem with documents, however we use WordPerfect 9.
When Scale To Fit Page was selected and then the document distilled, the
text on the pages were shrunk slightly. When we redistilled the document
with Scale to Fit Page deselected, the scaling of the text was not shrunk.
I looked at Word 2002 and a similar feature in the Distiller driver for
Word exists.

The following directions are for Word 2002.

With a Word document open, select Print.
In the Print popup box, select Distiller as the printer driver.
In the Zoom area Scale to Fit Paper, select No scaling
Redistill your document and see if the scaling problem is corrected.

Hope these direction work,

Dana Browning

Hi
I am sure this has been asked many times by Adobe Acrobat novices.
When I convert a page of a word file to a prn file or a post script file
through acrobat distiller or through our xerox printer the resulting
pdf(s) seems to have more 'white space' around it. If the pdf file is
compared against the same but printed Word file the pdf files footers
are about 0.6cms higher than the print version whilst the header on the
pdf file is about 0.4cms lower than the print version. As we work in
Word then convert to pdf to sent to our printers for print we need both
versions to look exactly the same, at present there is a glaring
difference in page sizes.
I read somewhere in an article that when converting to pdf some
calculations had to be done regarding page size and margins in order for
the pdf to replicate the exact size of the Word file - is this true??
All help gratefully appreciated.
Lewis.
PS our Word files are standard A4 paper size with 2.5cms margins all
around with 1.1cms header and footer.
