One area to be assessed...
The Canon and Xerox Multi-function function as document printers (they process a document at a time).
This requires maximum memory for each machine to process efficiently.
The Canon imageRUNNER line can be configured as a page printer (emulating the HP LJ model of printing) meaning there is no spooling to a local print file onboard the printer so they print a page(s) at a time.
This is one reason HP printers print and pause and print and pause on some complex print jobs that are more than 20 pages.
You did not state if you are printing with the postscript or PCL print driver.
One other solution would be to use the PCL5e driver (NOT PCL6).
Contact your Canon support team to reconfigure the imageRUNNER as a page printer
(some dealers are still copy centric and may need to contact their Canon support team)

The PDF list is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com
__________________________________________________________________
Hello!
We have had numerous problems printing books that were scanned. The books
are scanned in different ways by different systems. The clients provide the
PDFs and we impose print files using Quite software. For the 4 particular
files that I am stuck with right now, I have redistilled, used PDF Enhancer
and tried multiple combinations of these two with no success. Preflight does
not detect any problems with the file.
Sometimes we get one file from one client and it prints fine then we get
another file from the same client (produced with the same method) and it
won't. I know this is kind of vague but I am not sure what kind of info will
help here.
We are running on Xerox and Cannon, no RIP, from Acrobat 5.5 (due to
compatibility issues between Xerox and 6.0). The files spool fine but never
print. Any help will be most appreciated.
Sincerely,
Sabrina Coshow
