Well, I got used to Acrobat 6.0.1 Pro's new layout, but the more I work
with it, I am puzzled by it's quirky behavior. Maybe someone can tell me
what's going on. I regularly create PDF's from certain web sites. Under
Acrobat 4 and 5, capturing sites of up to 7,000 pages was no problem.
Using the same PC, I was working today with a site of a mere 1,500
pages. It initially produced a 30Mb file. Attempting to delete about
half the pages repeatedly caused the program to crash. It would randomly
go off and start a "combining fonts" process that would take 20 minutes,
then crash causing all my work to be lost. When I finally got the file
down to 500 pages, the file size INCREASED to 40MB and this was after
using the "Reduce File Size" function and saving to a different file
name. After 8 hours, I went to a different PC and did the task with
Acrobat 4.0.5 in about 1 hour with no crashes.
