Will this work for users who don't have the full acrobat but just the
reader? I need to create an icon that will do this. I think I have a
solution though. I'm going to use the path name as a global variable,
and my icon action can open the variable as a file.

You _can_ do it without javascript by using the
View>Goto>PreviousDocument command instead of previous view.

If I recall correctly in not only jumps you back to the previous
document, but also the last view of that doc. If that is not the desired
effect then perhaps forcing "view 1st page' as a doc open action would
fix it ... ?
