You can call it a bug, you can call it progress, you can call it bug fix.
The reason why the buttons no longer "work" in Acrobat 6 is because you have (apparently) not allowed forms filling and using (as opposed to forms editing). Clicking a button field is, when you think about it, actually the same as filling out a text field, or checking a check box. With Acrobat 6, consistency was brought into the whole thing.
Therefore, we can equally well say that the application program has been buggy and got fixed, or that the use of the application program has been sloppy before, and now, the application program is stricter.
Now, what to do? There is not much one can do besides getting the documents "in order".
Hope, this can help.

Acrobat 5 button action isn't working in acrobat 6 reader when security settings locked! Has anyone else experienced this?????
I had created an invisible button because in acrobat 5 you could not
duplicate links. I had the button open a file, which is supposed to open
another pdf file. I added security settings to allow user to print but
can not copy, paste, or modify document in any way.
Using acrobat 5 reader, this works. Now that I have acrobat 6, the linking action does not work.
Also, one of my bookmarks that is supposed to open www which I then access to use javascript and close the window, worked in acrobat 5 and doesn't in acrobat 6.
I had other users in acrobat 5 reader test, and it still works. Just not
in acrobat 6.
