Selecting Compress Text & Line Art does NOT hurt, nothing in the resulting PDF file is degraded. It will only make the PDF file smaller. Essentially, it is the same thing as creating a .zip or .sit file from an original. It is the same data packed into a smaller space. When decompressed the data is exactly the same as before.
