I’ve developed a pdf-based publication consisting of about 1,300 pdf files; a lot of form field buttons and interactive combo and listbox fields are used for navigation, and a few global variables are used in the embedded _javascript_s that runs the product. I want to make sure the product will work if all of its component files are placed on a local network server, assuming that every computer on the network has the ability to open a pdf file in Acrobat reader 5.05 or better.

The product works great on a standalone PC running Windows 95 or more recent and on a standalone Mac. Assuming all the file names conform to the eight.three convention, should this product work when deployed on a network server? It makes no use of pdf indexes, although it does allow use of the native Find or Search capability to be able to look for a keyword within a single, open pdf file.

Also, I have no access to computer networks for testing. Are there firms out there that rent access to networked computers for software testing purposes? Is such testing necessary, or is it a very safe bet that pdf will work fine over a network as described above?
