Thanks Max,

I was hoping for no manual intervention. The idea was select the filename in
the dropdown list and have it open in the user's browser. Just a simple file
launch but with JavaScript.

I have cludged a work around where by I have created an empty pdf that has a
page action associated with it so that when the page is opened the pdf
immediately opens the required html file and a JavaScript command closes the
blank window. Acts as a shortcut or alias.
Seems to work but it is not elegant and is going to quickly get boring.
