Developing on Windows 2000 using VC++ 6.0

Our product automatically goes through a document and creates links and bookmarks. We can create links from PDF to PDF also, which works fine. Since we create links to other PDFs I figured that I'd add the ability to create a corrosponding bookmark to another PDF. This is where things go wrong. After processing the document things seem to work great. The links do what they're supposed to and so do the bookmarks, but if you save the PDF some of the links no longer work. Their properties get set to None. The bookmarks are fine, it's just some of the links that get changed.

Anyone have any ideas how this could happen? I didn't do anything real dramatic in the code. I just took the action that was already created and used it to make a bookmark along with the link.
