A little bit of RTFM reveals that the ODBC connectivity is NOT available for Reader. Not even with Extended Rights.

Hope, this can help.

I want to fill in form fields in a PDF based on data from a Microsoft
Access Database. I have written some JavaScript code in the on open
event of the PDF. I have made and ADBC connection to an System ODBC name
which references the database with the login name and password.

This all works fine in full version Adobe Acrobat 5.0. However it fails
when I open the PDF with Acrobat Reader only. Using reader the code
begins to work and then an error message comes up that says that it
fails on line 39 of my code which is the ADBC connection line.

Can you help me solve this issue? Is there a particular syntax for the
ADBC connection that would make it work with Reader?
