Hello all,

The PDF Reference says nothing about daylight saving time. Does this mean
that the time zone info in a PDF date must not take daylight adjustment into
account?

For example, on Aug 29 at 9am in New York (EST), which would be the correct
date output:

2003-08-29 09:00:00-05'00'

or

2003-08-29 09:00:00-04'00'

(I added dashes and colons for clarity)

The first version does not take DST into account and simply indicates that
we are in the EST time zone, whereas the second version takes DTC into
account.

Also, I noticed that Acrobat ignores the time zone info completely when
displaying CreationDate and ModDate in Document Summary, which seems
strange. Shouldn't a consumer PDF application convert date info into the
local zone?

TIA.

Peter
