I am using the Acrobat Automation libraries for Acrobat 6.0 with Visual
Basic 6.0 (SP5) to create a small user front end. The program reads
through the fields on a PDF form that a user selects and creates a
schema based on the form fields. Every so often when a user tries to do
this twice without closing the program and killing the acrobat process,
we get an Automation Error ("Automation error The server threw an
exception."). If we kill the process the Acrobat process the program
will run properly afterwards (even if we don't shut the program down).
I am closing all documents and exiting acrobat at the end of each
execution of the program, but this is not helping. Does anyone have any
ideas on how to handle this (besides automating killing the process)?
Does anyone know any good libraries for reading PDF forms besides the
Acrobat Automation libraries? As it is the Automation libraries have
not had any new functionality since version 4.0. Is Adobe phasing out
the Automation libraries?

Thank You,
Yehuda Rosenblum
