We had not considered "rights enabling" the documents, so I will look into that. Otherwise, I might be able to do what I want with JavaScript in a form field. However, is it possible to either obtain the Windows directory path from JavaScript so that a known FDF could be imported, or retrieve a text field from the registry with JavaScript? The customer wants to have some customer-specific installation information put into a form field for display/print. This could be written to an FDF file at installation time to get imported, if the PDF could be set up to find the FDF. All the PDFs will be accessed from CD (usually) and cannot be changed by the customer. > AFAIK, the only general way to make this work is to do it the hard >way - Cos level APIs. Yes, I have done that for other projects and would rather not go there again! Thanks for your help.
