Is there a way to have Applescript insert pages using
a boolean expression or equation so that the page
numbers don't have to be specified?
I'm new to this and apologize for any transgressions,
but I've written an Applescript (v. 1.5.5; OS 9.2)
that wil combine two PDFs (Acro 5.0) of a specified
length so that the final document alters pages from
one PDF to the other (we create the odd pages in Quark
and the even pages in Filemaker, so we wind up with
two Distilled PDFs that need to be combined). The
script I have goes like this:
tell application "Acrobat 5.0"
insert pages document "front.pdf" after 78 from
document "back.pdf" starting with 78 number of pages 1
insert pages document "front.pdf" after 77 from
document "back.pdf" starting with 77 number of pages 1
So on and so on down to "...starting with [page] 1..."
My question is, do I have to specify the page numbers
(and document length) within the script, or is there a
way to write a script that will combine two PDFs that
alternates the pages without specifying the length of
the documents? So that the same script will, for
example, combine two 100 page PDFs and will also
combine two 40 page PDFs?
I appreciate any suggestions.
