The "PDF Can Opener" is quite good. I won't belabor their strengths and weaknesses (what weaknesses?). I never cared for the enfocus browser, but you can't beat the price (short of paying people to download it). PS: I recommend a tool like this for everyone who does cos-level PDF work. Reading PDFs in a text editor can be painful, and most streams are compressed. These plug-in browsers allow access to streams, and have access to the document after it has been decrypted in the presence of an encryption handler. Being able to peek & POKE at a pdf at this level can really help you understand how PDF works. It's at least as valuable as the PDF Spec. PPS: (This is getting silly. "our 3 main weapons...") There are a couple forms-related things that change when a pdf is opened by acrobat in the presence of the /NeedsAppearances flag, so sometimes you have to go back to the file anyway. --Mark Storer Software Engineer Cardiff Software #include <disclaimer> typdef std::disclaimer<Cardiff> Discard; To change your subscription: http://www.pdfzone.com/discussions/lists-pdfdev.html
