Let's say that I have 1000 MS Word documents, and another department has 500, and another one has some similar number. What can I do to set up some sort of "service" that will make it easy to generate PDF documents from those MS Word documents? We have Acrobat 5. I'm familiar with Distiller, but it's my understanding that the normal licensing of Acrobat doesn't allow it to be used as a "server". So, what capabilities do we have in Windows or open-source tools that will facilitate the semi-automatic generation of PDF files from these numerous MS Word files?
