Can you please use bug tracker located at 
http://pdfedit.petricek.net/bt/main_page.php and add this as change
request? 
It sounds reasonable but we are in time pressure at the moment and
this information could be lost in the mean time.

Have you also tried to change the permissions by hand (chmod)?
