I switched modes and can now see all the properties that I am interested in.

I see what you mean about it being easy to damage a document. After editing
the page boxes, ghostscript reports that the file is damaged and resizes the
boxes to 612x792. I'll continue doing some experiments to see if I can edit
the boxes without damaging the PDF document.
