Problem is probably in QSA scripting engine and its memory management. Of course, patches are welcome ;) If you need PDFedit documentation you should check doc directory or if you add --enable-advanced-doc --enable-doxygen-doc parameters to the configure script then you get also design (generated from docbook documentation) and programming (generated from sources) documentations. Nevertheless, pdf->TeX won't be an easy task (you were warn ;)), if you are interested in something smaller it would be better start. Don't hesitate to ask, if something is not clear.
