I haven't seen this problem yet. Could you report it as a new bug in our
bug tracker? (http://pdfedit.petricek.net/bt/main_page.php - note that
you have to be registered there, if it is problem for you, we can
discuss it here on the mailing list)

Please provide original and changed document and describtion how to
reproduce.

Compilation from sources shouldn't have any problems AFAIK. Please
ensure that you have followed all steps mentioned in the README file.
If you are still not successfull, describe your steps (starting from
uncompressing release tar ball) and send config.{log,status} and
Makefile.flags file.
