I see it with 0.4.3 on Fedora 12:

$ pdfedit ~/Desktop/f1040.pdf
pdfedit: xrefwriter.cc:868: size_t 
pdfobjects::XRefWriter::getRevisionSize(unsigned int, bool) const: 
Assertion `revStart>prevEnd' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

But it opens fine with 0.4.4.1
