Just a sidenote, RJBS was just on #p5p the other day asking why more people
don't use open(my $tmp, "+>", undef) or die ... to get a file handle to an
anonymous temporary file. The response was mostly that people didn't know
it existed (http://perldoc.perl.org/functions/open.html).
