It does exist, and with a piece of foil to short a few contacts and a M42->K
adapter, it will even convert Super Takumar screw lens to AF! I've used my
with an SMC K 85/1.8 lens for a nice short tele (145 f/3.0), and it retains
a lot of sharpness compared to other brands of 2x converters I've used.

But alas, they are no longer in production, but were for years, so they can
be found on the internet, and occasionally on Ebay. I've seen prices
between $50 and $110.

The part is known more specifically as Pentax SMC F AF 1.7x Adapter (30925).
