 I don't know about the KX but the K2 is totally different.  You have all the 
shutter speeds labelled down the side of the viewfinder, and the needle just 
points to the appropriate speed for the aperture you've set.  A blue indicator 
shows your selected shutter speed.  It takes up the whole height of the 
viewfinder.

 The good thing about doing it this way is that I can see that I'm 10-stops 
under instead of the "somewhere beyond 2 stops" that I get with the Z-1p.
