Today I have checked battery behaviour in my K1000. When I use normal 1.5V alkaline
batteries the light meter measures 1 stop to high (e.g. 4 instead of the correct 2.8)!
I
have compared this with various other cameras (MX, ME Super). It is a linear behaviour
as
far as I can tell. So, it is not really a serious problem and I can correct it by
setting
the ASA number lower.
Anybody else tested this? Some have reported that their old camera works well with
normal
alkaline batteries. This delusion may be due to the linearity?

Any experimental input highly welcome!

Best wishes
