Had a friend down at PMA report back to me with MZ-S specs. Here's what I know:

18.3 ounces (520 grams)

5.4" (w) x 3.7" (h) x 2.5" (d)

136.5x95.0x64.0 mm

Magnesium alloy construction. Heavy duty.

Hyper modes, similar but different from PZ-1p

On each film leader, it prints
    roll number (1-199)
    film speed
    info on imprinting density

On each frame, in between the sprocket holes
    Exposure mode
    Metering mode
    Shutter speed
    Aperture
    Exposure compensation
    AEB (auto bracketing)
    AE Lock

With a date back, it imprints the usual,
    YMD,MDY,DMY,DHM and blank

19 custom programmable Pentax Functions

2.5 frames per second motor drive (approx)

Powered by two CR-2 lithiums

Not just Mid roll film rewind, but MID ROLL EXCHANGE
(rewind early, leave leader out and later, insert that
roll and camera can automatically return it to the
frame from which it was initially rewound)

Or, powered by the AA pack or with lithiums in it

92% viewfinder, horizontal and vertical
magnification .75x (w/50 f1.4 @infinity)

Six very widely spaced AF sensors, automatically
selected or manually individually selected by user

TTL wireless flash, with new flash unit

High Speed sync flash, up to 1/6000th
(normal sync speed 1/180th), with new flash unit

Contrast control flash (as before)

Lens mount index LIGHT for convenience in changing lenses in low light

Pentax functions include:
-Enabling/disabling audible focus conf. tone
-Setting exposure program line
Normal, Shutter speed priority, DOF priority or
    MTF priority program line
-Setting number of auto bracketing exposures
-Setting auto bracketing sequence
-Exposure setting for reading automatically, the
selected AF sensor (instead of normal 6 segment)
-Setting AF button to only focus, or to both focus and
    take exposure reading as well
-Setting ISO automatically or manually
-Setting the focus point to be recalled or not
-Enabling or disabling shutter release before flash is ready
-Setting built-in flash as a flash or as wireless controller in
    wireless TTL mode
-Setting illumination button to fire test flash or modeling flash in the wireless
mode
-Setting film rewind to leave leader in or out and to enable
a roll that has been rewound early to be automatically
reloaded to the frame at which it was rewound.
-Setting rewind method at end of roll (auto or manual)
-Setting self timer delay
to 12 second delay, or 2 second delay with MLU
    (like PZ-1p)
-Setting film speed for imprinting data
-Locking both exposure and focus or only exposure when shutter release button is
pressed halfway down
-Setting the select dial's rotating orientation for advancing numeric values (swap
directions)
-Enable/disable lens mount index lamp
-Setting remote control button to release shutter after 3
    sec delay or immediately

I really like the midroll film exchange.
