I've had some problems with my MX, especially the
meter not operating reliably. It was due to a ring
under the lens mount which has a tab engaging another
tab in the lens to transmit the aperture information
to the meter. This ring was slightly bent and
sometimes stuck (it has a return spring). I simply put
it back to shape with a small screwdriver. No
disassembling, just taking the lens away.
