I prefer electronic DOF preview myself. My PZ-1p has mechanical and if you are 
shooting in Av or program mode, you have to manually move the aperture ring off the A 
setting to get the mechanical DOF preview to function. With electronic DOF, just touch 
a button and the lens stops down regardless of where the aperture ring is set.
