Personally, I do a little of both. I've got common round glass filters (rather than Cokin, etc.) in 58mm and 77mm and step-down rings to the other sizes I need (49, 52, 55, 72). But I don't use filters very often, so I'm surely no expert. TTYL, DougF KG4LMZ
