Pål has an interesting comment on the use of digital. There is still not a single digital camera that will give you a better wuality picture in terms of resolution, color separation, etc.
They have however other virtues as being fast for publishing stuff digitally. You can work with them digitally and refine colorbalance, highlights v.s. darker parts of picture and so on. Be aware that this is time consuming and that for best results printed this should go to a professional printer with due respect to all our inkjets...... Improvement of the medium follows roughly computers, i.e., a doubling of capacity roughly every 18 months or so (take with a grain of salt).
