Dan, One of the things my last employer did right was that they had a corporate rule limiting all meetings to no more than 1 hour. Amazingly effective--actually forced people to get things done during the meeting and then allowed them to do real work during the rest of the day. The employer before that never had meetings, and that was worse than too many meetings. Nobody was ever on the same page and there was never any face-to-face to lighten up the office-political shenanigans. It sucked. --Mike
